Rodgers’ game against the Buffalo Bills ended right that instant, along with the season and all his dreams and aspirations. It was reported that it happened right when the quarterback was sacked by Buffalo’s Leonard Floyd and fell. This came as a blow not just to the elderly quarterback but also to the Jets, who were looking forward to this season with great excitement to win.
Therefore, all the energy in the stadium vanished instantly, and now all people can do is wish him a speedy recovery. But, what is the main cause of Rodgers’ injury? There are certain reports that suggest the turf to be the main cause of the incident.

What was wrong with the turf?
A heated argument started when the reports of the turf and natural grass slid into the frame. On Thursday, September 7th, 2023, NFLPA President JC Tretter shared important data. That data seemed to prove the idea that synthetic surfaces are more prone to injuries than natural ones. Haplessly, 13 of the league’s 31 stadiums utilize turfs.

As per Yahoo Sports, Tretter wrote “In short, last year, the gap — much like the NFL’s credibility with players on this issue — was as wide as it has ever been, proving that (as the NFLPA suspected) 2021 was in fact an outlier. Now, 10 of the previous 11 years show the same exact thing — grass is a significantly safer surface than turf.”
NFLPA had filed a complaint regarding the matter in the month of January. However, the NFL completely ignored the warning claiming, “Simply playing on natural grass is not the answer to this complex challenge”. They fought against the statements with the idea that there’s no difference between turf and grass.

While the NFL coaches and the teams are now desperate to use natural grass to prevent any more accidents, it does not seem that the NFL is trying to pay heed to the matter. This might be one of the main causes of Aaron Rodgers’ injury. What do you think?
