Kyler Murray has proved himself to be a franchise quarterback in the last two seasons. The Pro Bowler was on his way to delivering an MVP caliber season. Alas, it was stopped midway by injuries to the team as well as Murray.
And recent developments on social media suggested a rift between the Cardinals and their star QB. Although, the fans now have confirmation from the owner Michael Bidwell, that Murray is in their “long-term plans.”

The Future of Kyler Murray
Speaking on 98.7, Arizona’s Sports Station, Bidwell provided insight into how the organization looks at the QB’s future in Arizona. He said, “Well, when you look at it, the window has just opened, for a contract extension. Certainly, he’s part of our long-term plan.”
“These contracts, especially the quarterback contracts are very complicated. And so when you look at it, you know, most of the big ones are done further down the road, I think Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen were done in the summertime.”

The owner, putting out such a statement indicates that the team is excited about their future with Murray. Even though the timing of his extension is sometime later in the year, the size of the contract is expected to be large. Real large.
What about Murray’s Social Media Fiasco?
Michael Bidwell acknowledged that even though he is not active on social media he heard the chatter going around. Clarifying the situation for fans, Bidwell said, “Yes, I spoke to him last night. We’ve had good conversations, you know, nonstop.”
Bidwell said that the speculations were not in line with what he had heard from his GM and Head Coach.
The Cardinals owner cheekily added, “Kyler put out a statement, you know, love me or hate me…..I’m going to get better put me in the category of, I love him and, and I know he’s going to get better.“

Cardinals started the season with a mind-boggling 7-0 run where Murray and Hopkins put on a show for the Arizona faithful. Yet, the dream run slowly faded away as injuries struck both the players. Even then, the Cardinals finished a strong 11-7, getting ousted in the NFC title match by the eventual Super Bowl winners, the Rams.

And then came the social media drama. The 24-year-old former Sooners QB had removed all posts, barring two.
He had also unfollowed the team’s social media pages (continues to do so) which led to speculation by media. Further reports suggested that people close to him say he regrets the events.
