Just when the NFL world had almost written him off, Baker Mayfield turned the table in the most incredible fashion. After being put on the waiver by the Panthers, the Rams claimed him. And since then, Mayfield has woken up the beast in him. With only two days since his arrival, Mayfield stepped up to the scene and rescued the Rams in a last-minute thriller. Now it seems Green Bay Packers HC Matt LaFleur has something to say about the QB.

Rival head coaches are regretting not acting when Baker was available. Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur expressed his disappointment. Not at his own inaction. But the Rams are being too proactive. LaFleur was an assistant to Rams head coach Sean McVay. And he thinks that the Los Angeles franchise got a great bargain deal with Baker Mayfield.
On being asked about his opinions on the recent signing, LaFleur laughed and said, “I can’t say I was real excited from a competitive standpoint.” Matt has some backup options himself for veteran QB Aaron Rodgers, including Jordan Love. However, he wouldn’t have said no to the Baker Mayfield transaction, considering how things turned out. “Some of the plays he [Baker Mayfield] made on that last drive were pretty spectacular,” LaFleur added.

When fans saw their Los Angeles Rams trailing the game by 13 points in the dying minutes of the game, they had no hopes of a Tom Brady-ish come back to rescue the game. The morals were already down ever since first-choice QB and Super Bowl LVI winner Matthew Stafford’s injury announcement. However, Mayfield had only a couple of days to gel with his new offense. And he pulled off two scoring drives covering over 98 yards without any timeouts left. The icing on the cake was the game-winning touchdown pass to Von Jefferson to edge past the Las Vegas Raiders 17-16.
Baker Mayfield helped the Rams end a six-game losing streak with the thrilling win on Sunday night without turning over the ball even once. The first pick of the 2018 NFL draft spent four 3000+ yards seasons with the Cleveland Browns and a lacklustre season at the Carolina Panthers before showing up clutch for the Rams.
