Antonio Brown‘s last NFL game left a lasting impression on fans and spectators alike. During a game against the Jets towards the end of the 2021 season, the wide receiver made headlines when he abruptly removed his jersey and stormed off the field. This controversial incident occurred while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trailed by 14 points in the third quarter.
Fast forward two years after parting ways with the Buccaneers, Brown recently suggested in a podcast that Tom Brady may have influenced him to play while injured. As discussions surrounding this revelation unfold, NFL All-Pro and Veteran Marcellus Wiley weigh in with detailed insights. The question remains: who stands to gain from this situation, and what should be the right outlook? Perhaps the answers lie with this Ivy League Hall of Famer.

It remains to be seen when Antonio Brown will return to an NFL field after his dramatic exit in 2022 during the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New York Jets. However, he recently spoke about the situation on Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill‘s ‘It Needed To Be Said’ podcast, reiterating his claim that the team expected him to play through injury.

Brown told the podcasters, “Tom called me like ‘Yo this week man the Jets man, they sweet man imma hit you with like 10 to 12 [targets]. He hit me up like ‘yo this a big week,’ so I’m like f—k it. I know my s***’s f***** up, but if he’s going to f*** with me like that, why not? Though, Brown only had five targets through almost three quarters. Which seemed to bring the former Central Michigan standout to boiling point. ‘You don’t want to throw me the ball, and you making me like I’m crazy, so, I was like, ‘I’m crazy? F*** all you motherf******, I’m out of here.”
NFL Veteran took a hard stance on AB’s comments. He compared his greed with the devil without red clothes and a pitchfork. He said, “It wasn’t Brady’s fault. Gotta blame AB for that. If you got 3 receptions in five targets… You think you can double it up when you’re down 14 points in the third quarter. You didn’t gave TB a chance to do what he does, and those would have been 5-7 extra targets that were promised. If you go down that logic that doesn’t make any sense.”
But the jabs don’t end here. Ivy League HOF took to the receiver’s comments on TB-12’s relationship with him, saying “That ain’t no Brady issue, big dog… Sometimes if you’re gonna say no, Brady ain’t gonna forget about you. AB knows it’s not like that. A future HOF who had to be selfish at times and say no to coach or friends or family alike. So why in this situation AB lost his weight?”

He was trying to kiss up to Tom Brady
Brown continues to hold the belief that the Buccaneers mishandled his situation, even after almost 18 months have passed. “They treated me like I was a dog,” Brown said. Wiley Sr., the renowned American sportscaster and former AFL defensive end took it further in his recent YT video saying, “AB was trying to give ‘the teachers apple’ more to TB than himself” on AB’s comment, “I know my s— f—– up, but if he gonna gas me like that, why not? So I dressed up, suited up and once I got to New York, I already felt the bad energy.”
And now it’s something for sure. After all, Marcellus wasn’t wrong to counter how AB shouldn’t have prioritized TB12 and his demands over himself. It’s like,” Bruce Arians says something, the organization says something but we follow a guy ‘we don’t have much common with’.”

In the end, it all comes down to fan favorites and their opinions, because this NFL veteran said “It all comes down to a lot of rationalization, a lot of justification, and someone who made a bad decision that doubled down on dumb and got worse.” Now that’s something to think about!
