Cam Newton makes an impressive return for the Carolina Panthers

The Panthers prior to Sunday’s game announced that the veteran quarterback will be active but won’t start against the Cardinals, which turned out to be true since PJ Walker was the one who claimed most of the playing time. Although the required start to the winning spell was given by Cam Newton, as he scored two touchdowns in the very first quarter of the game.

The Panthers were also penalized 15-yards for unsportsmanlike conduct after Newton took off his helmet and yelled “I’m Baaack!!” after the first touchdown in front of the Arizona fans. Although it was very relieving for the quarterback to do that but it might surely have attracted some amount of hate from the opposing side too.

Cam Newton started his NFL journey when he got drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2011 and since then the quarterback has come a long way. He won the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2011 and only trended up from there. He led the Panthers to a 15-1 record in 2015 and also took them to the Super Bowl, but unfortunately, that extraordinary journey ended with a loss to the Denver Broncos.

However, a series of injuries affected his efficiency, and the team let go of him in 2019. However, he was then signed by the Patriots to act as the backup to the GOAT Tom Brady, but was released this season by losing the spot to the rookie Mac Jones.
