“Call me!”: Tom Brady Lends A Helping Hand To Antonio Brown, Reveals Private Message

Antonio Brown is an enigma. The NFL world can’t go too long without hearing his name popping up in a negative light. It’s unfortunate that the talented receiver was unable to bounce back from the puzzling events that sparked his downward spiral. After being kicked out of the league for his behavior, AB has tried his best to drag his former teammate’s name in the mud. Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady has been the primary victim of AB’s incessant trolling online.

Most recently the receiver revealed his conversation with Brady by posting parts of a text thread. But why would AB stoop so low?

Antonio Brown posts something contrary to his intentions

The answer to that question segues into recollecting certain incidents. This is not the first time AB has come into the spotlight for saying something unsavory. The disgraced receiver has primarily mocked Brady’s split from Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen. Brady closed the chapter on his 13-year marriage in October this year, but rumors of a potential split were circulating the NFL world much before their announcement. AB has also mocked TB12’s performance slump this season. But what did Brady do to warrant such vitriol? From what the NFL world has seen, the answer is- nothing. While fans may not be aware of what goes on behind the scenes, Brady has reportedly been nothing but hospitable. Right from bringing AB on board the Buccaneers to allowing him to stay with him at his home, the QB did what every good friend would do.

What’s even more perplexing is the fact that AB’s attempt to ‘expose’ Brady’s nature sorely backfired. The former receiver took to Twitter to post private messages between himself and Brady. But the texts just showcased Brady’s encouraging nature. A part of Brady’s length text reads, “Don’t give in. You can handle it. And when you aren’t feeling great, call me!” Brady goes on to say, “It’s not right but we show a lot of people light and inspiration if we deal with whatever comes GRACEFULLY. They will all remember your grace under pressure and how you deal on the field is how you do it off field. With incredible precision and planning and discipline. And I’m going to help you in any way I can.” The texts AB shared do nothing but spark affection towards TB12’s approach to their friendship. So what is AB trying to prove?

Brown has the NFL world sighing in annoyance

AB has tried to show the world another side of the QB by revealing texts where Brady called AB immature, selfish and irresponsible. Fans would argue that Brady is not too far off the mark. Apart from taking shots at the TB12, AB has had run-ins with the law. This has truly been an eventful year for the receiver- in the most negative sense.

Despite being a controversial figure, the receiver has attracted a horde of followers who support him. Under the pretext of exercising his freedom of speech, many in the NFL world have backed AB as he moves in and out of controversy. One can’t help but question, after many years of being a star in the league, is this AB’s way of avoiding his eventual descent into irrelevance? While that is a question we may never get an answer to, the NFL world will warily (and wearily) try to decipher the web of controversies the receiver has woven.
