NFL Fans have adored Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen since they began dating in 2006. Both have built up a territory in the Power couple category and are still running strong. It all happened after a mutual friend set them up for a date. But Brady did not engross Bündchen in the first place for a surprising reason.

At a New England Patriots game in December 2005, the Brazilian supermodel saw a picture of Tom Brady. At the time, she had just broken up with Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio. But Brady was seeing the actress Bridget Moynahan. The Boston Herald reported Bündchen’s initial response. The supermodel thought Brady was attractive, but he did not intrigue her since the QB was engaged to another woman.

Bündchen mentioned, “Tom Brady, definitely not too shabby. He’s cute, but if he has a girlfriend, he’s gay to me. There are too many men in the world to go after a man who has a woman. Life is too short.”

Thankfully, in 2006, after a friend set them together for a date, Bündchen finally consented to meet Tom Brady. It was true love at first sight moment after she saw “the most beautiful, charismatic smile.” Moreover, as per Vogue.com, Brady heard the review and mentioned, “Oh, jeez, that’s a little harsh.”

Bündchen and Brady’s relationship had a marginally bumpy start after the breaking news by the athletes’ ex. Moynahan announced she bore the QB’s child. The supermodel even thought of reconsidering things and walking off the relationship. But she ultimately stood with her man.

Marriage is like a canoe. To make it flow smoothly, both sides of the ore must move accordingly. Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen battled to keep their boat afloat while dealing with unavoidable challenges in their marriage. The reason was that Brady would practice football all year. His attention would next turn to his commercial ventures. While Gisele took care of the family, she felt her husband was going off track from his father’s duties.

Brady mentioned, “She wasn’t satisfied with our marriage, and I needed to make a change in that….Her point was, ‘Of course, this works for you… but it doesn’t work for me,’… I had to check myself. Because she was like, ‘I have my goals and dreams too.’” The QB took it as a reminder to mend things and improve the situation. Both of them have great understanding, and their marriage continues to flourish.
