Former Indianapolis Colts punter turned sports analyst, Pat McAfee is one of the most popular personalities on the digital platform right now. In the latest episode of the ‘Pat McAfee Show’, the former NFL player shared one of the most heart-touching stories about his wife trying to conceive a baby.

It is worth noting that McAfee often talks about football and invites football stars to make guest appearances. However, he shared his and his wife Samantha’s story about going through hard times during pregnancy.

Pat McAfee opens up about his wife’s battle with pregnancies

While talking to his co-hosts, McAfee revealed that he never wanted to be a father because he was terrible as a child. Additionally, he never thought he would marry someone until he met his current wife, Samantha. Then, they tried to have a baby, and Samantha became pregnant.

However, the doctors found out that McAfee’s wife had an ectopic pregnancy, and they had to operate on her immediately to save her life. However, this surgery cost her the child. After emotionally going through hell the first time, they tried for a baby once again.

Unfortunately, they faced the same ectopic pregnancy once again. As a result, they had to go through emergency surgery once again and the doctors had to remove her fallopian tube for the second time to save her. As per McAfee, both he and his wife went through a difficult time in terms of mental health.

After that, they did not have the strength to go through another normal pregnancy; so they found out about IVF. “We’re told like, hey, IVF seems like the perfect thing for you guys. Because our egg and our sperm have met and made a baby every single time. Just for whatever reason, it hadn’t been able to get into, you know the incubator to really start cooking,” McAfee revealed. 

In July this year, they went through the IVF procedure and currently expecting a baby in a few weeks. Throughout the whole process, McAfee praises his wife immensely for staying strong mentally. “She has been a bada** through this. Her persistence and resilience has been something that is nothing short of inspiring. She has been through a lot of pain. She has a lot of scars, both physically and emotionally from this whole process. And I can’t wait to see you be a mom,” McAfee further said. 

Speaking about becoming a father, the former NFL player said, “I can’t wait to be a dad. But I am scared to death.“

Notably, McAfee revealed that he could have known the gender of their baby, but chose not to. Now, he is just hoping to see his baby’s face in a few weeks, as he can’t contain his excitement.
