The New York Jets are building a formidable roster for the 2023 season. It has been a busy offseason for the Jets, as they have been moving aggressively in the trade window to restructure their team for Super Bowl contention next season. With Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive coordinator, the Jets have been bringing in players who are familiar with playing under Hackett and his schemes.

While the Aaron Rodgers trade to the Jets is still an incomplete chapter at the moment, the Jets have worked on bringing in his former teammates, including former Green Bay Packers WR Allen Lazard. They are even signing another veteran QB who is familiar with playing with A-Rod, and that is Tim Boyle. As the standoff for Rodgers’s trade continues, his new workout video has instilled a sense of confidence in the mind of his buddy about his trade possibilities. It seems like all the chips are falling into place.

In a recent episode of his show, Pat McAfee talked about how the Packers legend is at the moment training together with Allen Lazard. Lazard recently joined the Jets, and he stated that there were two major factors that led to him signing with the Jets. One was A-Rod coming to New York, and the second was the familiar face of Nathaniel Hackett. McAfee said that both players are preparing to be the best football players for the Jets once the deal for A-Rod’s arrival in New York is concrete.

McAfee said, “Aaron Rodgers getting after it. With who? Former teammate, and Allen Lazard is now a New York Jets. His future teammate, working out right now, doing stuff physically, So not only is he working with his rocks and spiritually emotionally, not only is he watching the whales do their thing, he’s busting his a** with Allen Lazard. They are playing tag.  Let’s have fun playing football again is what Allen Lazard said and what Aaron said. And then they did their little handshake afterwards that they do after throwing touchdowns to each other and now they are just preparing to be the best football players they can possibly be for the New York Jets whenever the deal is done.”

If the deal goes through, as McAfee seems sure it will, Rodgers could make some serious bank. One of the best agents in the NFL shares the same conviction about Rodgers’ paycheck as McAfee does about his trade.
