Buffalo Bills are rewriting history by building one of the most expensive Football Stadiums. The club in association with the New York State and Erie County are going to build a $1.4 billion state-of-the-art, open-air stadium in Orchard Park, New York.

The facility will be provided to the team on a 30-year lease and will reach its glory by 2026. Under the agreements signed by the stakeholders, the public will fund the majority of $850 million. This would be the second home constructed by the Bills after the Highmark Stadium since 1973.
Buffalo Bills Have A New Home
The historic announcement for a new stadium came on Monday after the top brass of the club signed an agreement with New York State and Erie County. The move will help the club reinstate its glory to become one of the few teams to build a home stadium in the pro football league.

“We took another step today to solidify our collective goal of constructing a new stadium for the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park,” Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula said in a statement Monday. He thanked Governor Kathy Hochul for the commitment and for making the entire process smooth for the team.
This $1.4 Billion deal is a collaboration of a series of funding raised by two main entities. The public funding will be around $850 million, and the New York state has assured the other $600 million in funds.
Erie County will have a stake of $250 million towards the project. The Bills will add $ 350 million along with a $200 million loan sanctioned by the NFL. The official groundbreaking for the stadium is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2023 and will be completed by 2026. Experts expect a maximum capacity of 62,000 once the entire construction process finishes.
Bills Are Joining an elite list
The pro-football league has some of the biggest and most intense fans in the sports fraternity. Larger stadiums can accommodate larger audiences. Apart from the new Bills stadium, there are a few others that stand apart in terms of capacity and construction costs.

The Sofi stadium, built in Inglewood, California, is one of the most expensive stadiums in NFL history. The project is 85% complete. Predictions say it will open later this July. It is constructed at a record-breaking cost of $5 billion and holds a total capacity of 70,000 spectators. The stadium will be home to the Los Angeles Rams and the Chargers in the future.
