Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills started the 2019 season with a four-game winning streak. They suffered back-to-back losses against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Titans in Week Five and Six. However, they’ve been magnificent ever since.
Coach Sean McDermott guided his team to two consecutive wins over the last two weeks. Today, the Bills extended their winning run to three games with a comprehensive 44-34 win over Russell Wilson-led Seattle Seahawks.
The Bills defense did enough to restrict the enigmatic duo of Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf. However, a lot of the credit for Sunday’s win was down to the stellar display from their franchise quarterback, Josh Allen.

The 24-year-old quarterback went 31 of 38, throwing for 415 yards with three touchdowns to his name. The University of Wyoming graduate was unplayable at the Ralph Wilson Stadium. Head coach Sean McDermott later revealed that Allen lost his grandmother a night prior to Sunday’s game.

However, the 2018 NFL draft pick insisted that he wanted to play against the Seahawks. Coach McDermott agreed and the Bills quarterback did a fine job against a Seattle Seahawks defense led by Jamaal Adams. Allen couldn’t have given his grandmother a more apt tribute even if he wanted to. What a marvelous young man he’s turning out to be!

The Bills now sit comfortably at the top of the AFC East Division table with a 7-2 record. They’re followed by Miami Dolphins in second, the New England Patriots in third. The New York Jets are yet to win a game in the league this season.

Allen is now back in the NFL MVP conversation alongside Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and Patrick Mahomes. If he continues to put up consistent numbers over the next seven weeks, he might just win the first NFL MVP award of his short career.
