Russell Wilson and his play-calling abilities have been one of the hot storylines for the fans this season. A few days ago, the Seahawks’ head coach Pete Carroll took a dig at his former passer, referring to his current QB Geno Smith, to which Wilson gave a befitting reply.
However, it will be interesting to see if he actually wears a wristband like how he wore against the Jaguars last week.

Russell Wilson and Co. won a close encounter 21-17 last week and improved their season record to 3-5, securing them a third spot in the AFC West. One of the highlights was Wilson wearing the wristband to aid his playcalling. Something that seemed unusual from his side.
Anyway, the result turned out to be a positive one, ending their losing streak. When the head coach Nathaniel Hackett was asked if the quarterback would continue to wear those bands, he responded in a neutral manner. “It could be,” Hackett said if the practice would follow.
“I think for us if it helps, then why not use it? Right now, we’re 1-0 with it. I mean, hey, let’s move forward. Again, a lot of quarterbacks use it across the league. It’s one of those things, if it gives you some kind of advantage or helps you, then we want to do everything we can.” he added to his explanation.
The reporters went to dig more into this issue, asking the first-year HC for the side whether Wilson actually resisted wearing those wristbands.
He replied with a big NO, claiming that such things are mutually decided and vary from quarterback to quarterback. In the end, it’s about following their plan decided ahead of the game.
What did Pete Carroll say about Russell Wilson?
The current Broncos quarterback had been a pillar of Seattle’s overall development for the last decade. Not only did he prove himself as a phenomenal talent, but also won a Super Bowl. It elevated their position as one of the formidable sides in the NFL.

However, his former head coach Pete Carroll took a shot at the passer without explicitly naming him. He mentioned that Geno Smith uses wristbands. And the practice helped them get better at winning games this season, something he claimed was not the case earlier.

Surprisingly, this comment reached the right ears, and Wilson mentioned that he had won many games without such bands. As a starter, Wilson held the 104-53-1 record and eventually won Super Bowl XLVIII. Indeed, who knows better than the passer in this regard?
