The San Francisco 49ers already have two quarterbacks on the sidelines. Trey Lance, their preferred quarterback to start the season, went out with a fractured ankle early in the season. Following the horrible news, they had to switch to Jimmy Garoppolo, who they actively tried to offload this offseason. But the 31-year-old turned many heads at the organization with his performances in the following weeks. The Niners were just starting to look like a genuine contender this season, however, a serious injury to Jimmy G forced the team to start this year’s Mr Irrelevant. But just after one start, Brock Purdy himself is now questionable to start on Thursday.

The Seattle Seahawks will be hosting the Red and Golden of the Bay Area this Thursday. The visitors will surely enter as the favorites to come out with a win. However, things might get a little tricky for them as Mr Irrelevant is listed as questionable for the game. The team had already expressed their concerns about Purdy’s health. They made it clear that any decision to start the player or not will come down to the game day. Aligning with the thought process, they have listed him as questionable to start.
The rookie quarterback came out of the Buccaneers game with an oblique/rib injury. Even though the team only held one practice this week, on Tuesday, Purdy remained limited during the light practice session. If he is not able to start, then the Niners will go to their 4th starter, Josh Johnson.

Brock Purdy: From Mr Irrelevant to the hero of the 49ers
The 22-year-old became the last player to be picked in this year’s NFL draft. Where some people can never shake the title of Mr Irrelevant, Purdy has done it in fashion. After Garoppolo‘s unfortunate foot injury, they brought in the rookie to command the team against a strong Dolphins side. The rookie made two TD passes and threw for 210 yards, with only 1 interception, leading his team to a 33-17 victory.

However, his actual test came in the form of Tom Brady and the Buccaneers the following week. But the youngster was up for the challenge as well. In 21 passing attempts, he completed 16 for 185 yards and 2 TDs, further rushing for another TD. The quarterback took multiple hits but was still able to deliver for his team. The Niners won the game with a score of 35-7 and the fans were quick to acknowledge the relevance of Purdy.
