Ever since they encountered as students at Whitehouse High School, Texas, Mahomes and Matthews have been together. While Mahomes pursued collegiate baseball and football at Texas Tech and Matthews played soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler, the couple remained inseparable.

The bride wore a white Versace outfit with spaghetti straps, a cut-out bodice, a long train, and a cathedral-length veil, whereas the groom was decked in a pale gray tuxedo with dazzling loafers.

Jackson Mahomes, Mahomes’ younger brother, stood as best man, and Travis Kelce, a Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro, acted as one of his groomsmen. Kelce’s girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, was also one of Matthew’s bridesmaids.

The couple announced they were having their first child soon after their engagement. On February 20, 2021, Sterling Skye Mahomes was born. She was also a flower girl at the wedding celebration of the pair.

Just days after marrying in Hawaii in March, Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews headed off on a romantic getaway. They left Maui for an unnamed tropical destination, which Matthews eventually revealed was St. Barts, where the power couple rejoice, as they begin their new phase of life.
