In a recent Instagram story, Brittany Mahomes offered a sneak peek of the forthcoming stadium for the Kansas City Current, an American women’s soccer team, which marks a notable addition to their expanding investment portfolio. Moreover, the quarterback’s latest venture involves securing an equity stake in the Kansas City Current. This move not only amplifies Mahomes’ influence in Kansas City but also marks his pioneering role as the first active NFL player with ownership in an NWSL team.

The first-ever women’s soccer stadium is being built in Kansas City, Missouri, at the Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park. The Stadium project was originally priced at $70 million and has risen to approximately $117 million due to a redesign aimed at increasing seating capacity and construction expenses. The KCC, co-owned by Patrick Mahomes and his wife, will open this training facility in 2024.

The world’s first pro soccer women’s facility comes as a blessing for many aspiring women athletes, and every milestone of it is particularly special. Over 800,000 hours have already gone into building this $177 million marvel. Brittany has already poured significant money into women’s soccer sports, but this comes as a real game changer.

With a present seating capacity of 11,50o, which can later accommodate 22,000 fans, the stadium will be a hotspot for women’s professional sports in the region. As the Women’s World Cup continues to shine a global spotlight on women’s sports, it is fair to suggest that Kansas could be the next host!
