That’s when Bills assistant athletic trainer Denny Kellington started to perform CPR, ultimately saving his life.

After collapsing on the Field, Damar had lost his pulse at one point. If it was not for the Bills’ assistant athletic trainer, things could have been different. Kellington performed a CPR on the player. It was instrumental in saving to his life. After learning about this, the NFL world has showered him with praise and recognition. Now joining the growing list, Brittany Mahomes shared a story via her Instagram account. She captioned the post, “I can only imagine how much pressure Denny had on him in doing his job in front of thousands of people! Bring tears to my eyes knowing Damar is healing and doing better.”

The coach thanked the athletic trainer and gave him the highest of praises. “For an assistant to find himself at that position and needing to take the action that he did and step up and take charge like he did, and there were others on the field as well – is nothing short of amazing,” McDermott said.

Thankfully, Hamlin is now recovering quickly and responding well to the treatment. It is also a win for the league’s and ground’s medical staff and protocol, which helped save a life. All the cogs that helped move this crucial gear cannot be commended enough for what they have done.
