Mathieu tested positive for Covid on September 1, sabotaging Chiefs’ plans for a perfect start of the season. As their rivalry with the Browns produced an exciting and one of the most competitive matches in the 2020 divisional-round game. Mathieu had a tremendous 2020 season as he picked off 6 passes and registered 62 tackles. Which earned him a spot on the All-Pro team the second time and his third trip to the Pro Bowl. Hence, being the star safety of the Chiefs, his presence would hold the Browns from taking away unnecessary points.
