The Ole Miss is all set to extend the stay of the head coach, Lane Kiffin, at Michigan University. On Saturday, Kiffin and Ole Miss announced a new contract agreement that will last until 2025. His contract is said to extend for one more year. However, the institution has not disclosed the financial specifics of the new deal.
“We are committed to winning championships at Ole Miss, and coach Kiffin is the person to lead us to those heights,” Ole Miss athletics director Keith Carter said in a statement. “With his winning edge, offensive vision, and recruiting prowess, he has quickly cemented our team among the best in the nation, and this is just the start.”

“With major facility projects on the horizon, we are investing in this program like never before and look forward to building on the foundation that Coach Kiffin has established.”
Judging by the successful campaign of Kiffin with the team, an extension to his said contract was bound to happen. Although Kiffin is only authorized to be hired for four years at a time under Mississippi law. This is his second contract extension in two seasons at Oxford, and each one has resulted in a significant rise in his base salary. However, the details on the said contract are going to be made official on Sunday.

Lane Kiffin wants to rise high with Ole Miss
Kiffin’s most recent contract extension was signed on February 28. He was paid a basic salary of $4.5 million in 2021, with a $500,000 retention incentive if he stayed in Oxford until December 31. Counting the retention incentive, their values grew by $250,000 each year, ending in a deal worth $5.75 million in 2024.

In the 2021 regular season, Ole Miss went 10-2 for the first time in school history, becoming the first team in school history to win ten games. Mississippi was selected for the New Year’s Six Bowl for the third time in school history as a result of its achievement. Kiffin has a 15-7 record in two seasons, including back-to-back bowl berths with the Rebels.
