A bit of leisure goes hand in hand with the chaos of the NFL. And what better discipline than golf to turn to when one needs to relax while keeping their competitiveness intact? With NFL royalties, Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes turn up for occasional golf showdowns, the NFL community seems enamored by the sport. Joining the list of NFL professionals turned golf fanatics, Buffalo Bills‘ Jordan Poyer also recently proved his skills as an elite golfer.
Most of the golf games headlined by NFL athletes often have a common goal: Charity. And Jordan Poyer’s initiative was no different. The 2022 season could be considered Jordan Poyer’s most successful NFL stint yet. The 2012 First Team All Pac-12 showed glimpses of his younger days, as a now 30 years old Poyer led the Bills to numerous victories, earning himself Pro Bowl honors in the process. However, Poyer’s skill set is not just limited to the gridiron as the golf course seems to be a playing field he is comfortable with as well.
During his charity celebrity golf event, Poyer achieved one of his most memorable golfing moments and shared the same on his Instagram.
Poyer shares, “Broke 80 for the first time in my golf career and shot a dam 76 LFG!!“. However, Poyer was almost ripped off his golfing glory as the event was canceled. Despite the cancellation, Jordan Poyer revived with his teammates’ help. And the rest will remain a personal milestone for Poyer’s golfing pedigree. But then again, this isn’t the first time Jordan Poyer raised eyebrows with the swing of a club.
A golfing disaster avoided
The Pro Bowl changed things this year with AFC and the NFC competing against each other in a variety of skill competitions. One of them being the long drive. Both AFC and NFC started the bout fairly evenly. But soon, the final participant, i.e. Jordan Poyer establishes AFC as the victors with a vicious swing covering 320 yards. Since then, Jordan Poyer is one of golf’s biggest advocates in the NFL world.

However, Poyer’s recent initiative is in jeopardy since choosing Donald Trump’s Golf Course. It obviously doesn’t sit well with people. Soon, Poyer’s sponsors pull out, possibly canceling the event.
Fortunately, Poyer’s Buffalo teammates chip in to make the Pro Bowler’s dream a reality. Soon, Poyer also garners a new sponsor in PublicSq and lives his iconic golfing thrill.
