There is no shortage of controversies in the NFL world. Notably, it has only been a few months since the most controversial of them all, Antonio Brown was joined by Kanye West and ex-Cowboys, Dez Bryant. Despite winning a Super Bowl himself, AB proceeded to poke fingers at the league and accused them of rigging their games. And to anyone’s surprise, even Bryant agreed with the argument despite staying with the league for over a decade.
Meanwhile, the former WR from the Cowboys has involved himself in yet another controversy. And it’s regarding the recent arrest of the youngest undisputed boxing champ after a concealed weapon was found in his car.

Boxing met with unfortunate news last Thursday after Devin Haney was arrested on a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon. He was then released on $35k bail, as per the LA Sherriff’s Department, and is scheduled to appear in court earlier next month. It was also reported that the authorities pulled over the vehicle after an unsafe lane change, and also failing to use turn signals. When a semi-automatic weapon was discovered in the driver’s seat, no one from the car assumed possession of the weapon. Haney’s father also claimed that the undisputed boxer was sitting in the passenger seat when the vehicle was apprehended.
..@Realdevinhaney if any of your friends was in the car with you and didn’t step up.. you gotta unfriend them boss… nobody wouldn’t have never known about the incident if one of your friends stepped up to take the charge… https://t.co/mezk31es0j

Nonetheless, as no one took ownership of the concealed weapon, Haney was charged instead, as he was the sole owner of the car. As it went down, a Twitter page updated the news on their page, soon followed by the former WR’s response. Bryant replied to the tweet with, “If any of your friends was in the car with you and didn’t step up.. you gotta unfriend them boss,” also tagging the boxer.

Bryant then added, “nobody wouldn’t have never known about the incident if one of your friends stepped up to take the charge…” concluding the tweet, and asking one of his friends to take the fall. The comment section of the tweet got divided very quick, with some of them pointing fingers at the former WR for negligence, while others supported his statement.
How serious is this case?
The 30-0 fighter is in his prime, with exciting showdowns in the near future. Also, very recently, Haney got into a Twitter spat with Teofimo Lopez, challenging him to be his next opponent. However, if found guilty, these charges could change the course of his career. Haney’s father, on the other hand, claimed it all to be a misunderstanding and added, “That will be solved when Devin goes to court.” He also told ESPN, “It’s unfortunate that he was arrested with his armed licensed security, and I’m confident things are going to be worked out.”

The online court reports also claim that Haney was found to be sitting in the backseat. When his bodyguards were escorted out of the car by the authority, the gun was found in the driver’s seat. This case is still in its early stages, and it is yet to unfold in the near future. It will be interesting to see how it all goes down, and if Haney faces serious charges followed by the court hearing on Aug 3.
