During an interview with Graham Bensinger on YouTube, Bob Costas talked about the events that took place when he went to visit Simpson in prison. He recalled how he went to the LA County Jail in November 1994. He was accompanied by Robert Kardashian, who was a part of Simpson’s defense team. Kardashian picked Costas up from the hotel and they both went to visit Simpson in jail.
When they reached the prison and met Simpson, Costas had cut his finger on the glass, making it bleed. This left OJ Simpson stating that Costas did the murders as if he is joking about the situation.

Costas said, “It’s me, AC Cowlings and Kardashian on one side of the glass and OJ in a blue prison outfit, looked to me like he lost about 20 pounds, he comes walking in sits on a stool and the way you shake hands is you put your hand up against his against the glass. And I had cut my finger. So I had a bandage and this is no joke. I had a bandage on my finger and this little bit of blood. And he goes, ‘wait a minute. Wait a minute. You did it’. Like its a joke right. So we sit there and the whole time you know, he’s gently trying to convince me that he couldn’t possibly have done it.”
OJ Simpson’s double murder trial
Simpson was acquitted in 1995 for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. He became the prime suspect after the duo was stabbed to death in Los Angeles. Instead of surrendering to the police for suspicion, he hid in the back of a car driven by Cowlings with a gun to his own head. This led to a slow police chase that lasted for hours. It was televised nationally, with more than 95 million viewers who saw the drama unfold.
