Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers needs no introduction. His exploits on the football field, right from his recap-worthy college days. But apart from his numbers, he also brought something else from his college life into the NFL. His friendship with former Seattle Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch. This week, as the pair reunites on Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football, fans are celebrating the two getting back together.

Amazon’s trailer for the TNF reunion shows Rodgers surprising Lynch by wearing his #24 Seahawks jersey. “You know I gotta represent”, says Rodgers when Lynch cannot believe his eyes. From the utter shock in his eyes, it is easy to ascertain that the jersey Rodgers is wearing is the same one Lynch gave Rodgers after their 2020 divisional round game. A memento from the past fit for a reunion.

Added to this gesture, there was another one, earlier this week. Although not by A-Rod himself, it is not very difficult to connect the dots and see who the architect behind it is. Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys saw Packers’ running back Aaron Jones score a rushing touchdown, using the same move Lynch used when he scored TDs.

Aaron Rodgers and Marshawn Lynch’s reunion leaves fans enraptured

The news about Rodgers‘ reunion with Lynch on TNF did not take long to get the attention of the NFL community. And while a lot of fans took the opportunity to celebrate the occasion, many seemed confused and unaware of the connection between the two. Thankfully, some good samaritans were ready to help these poor souls out. Some did not fail to notice Jones’ touchdown homage to Lynch.

Fans are very delighted to see the old pals together again.

Packers’ next challenge

Aaron Rodgers’ reunion with Lynch airs on Thursday as the Packers face the Tennessee Titans. Although the Titans have the better record coming into this game (6-3), they have never beaten the Packers at Lambeau Field. Added to that, Tennessee has not been exemplary this season, with almost all of their win margins below 10 points. The Packers, though, come into this game fresh from a whopping overtime comeback against the Dallas Cowboys to win 31-28.

While the Titans cruise at the top of the AFC South division, the Packers are not out of the run just yet. They stand second in the NFC North, with a game in hand against the leaders, the San Francisco 49ers. But the Titans’ weak passing game might just come in clutch for the Packers. The defense should be able to narrow down on rushing plays and make the Titans play uncomfortable passing plays. Although the odds are definitely in the Packers’ favor with this one, when it comes to the NFL, the paper doesn’t matter come game day.
