Kansas City Chiefs continue solidifying their roster prior to the 2023 season. While most NFL teams are hellbent on acquiring newer pieces to their list of personnel, the Chiefs have chosen to retain most members from their Super Bowl-winning squad. Led by their superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs went on to win their second Super Bowl trophy in the last four years. It is obvious that they want to keep their old roster. And that is exactly what they did with this tight end.

With most of their players reaching free agency, the Chiefs indeed have a lot of difficult choices to make. Having already waved goodbye to their free agent wide receiver Meloce Hardman, now the Chiefs are focused on most of their backup options. Luckily for the die-hard Kansas City fans, the Chiefs are expected to bring back names such as Blake Bell and Derrick Nnadi.

The 2023 offseason saw Bell out on the free agency market, but this time the Chiefs were quick to lock him down.

According to NFL Network’s Insider Ian Rapoport, “The #Chiefs are re-signing TE Blake Bell to a 1-year contract, source said. This is his fourth season with KC.

Even though Bell played just three regular-season games last season due to injury, his involvement with the Chiefs has been monumental as they never won a Super Bowl without him in recent years.

Bell is primarily known for his ability as a blocker, and he plays a role in the Chiefs’ willingness to run 12- or 13-personnel looks with multiple tight ends on the field at the same time. Now that he is back at it again with the likes of Travis Kelce and Noah Gray, the Chiefs are expected to continue their ways of winning.
