The Super Bowl LVII not only proved to be the most fabulous night for the Chiefs, but also for a fan who got extremely lucky. Eamonn Dixon, an Australian native, snagged the game-winning field goal kick that made the Chiefs the winners against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Harrison Butker kicked the last game-winning field goal. He kicked a 27-yard field goal when only eight seconds remained on the clock. Many people did not notice that the field goal was done so well that the football went over the kicking net. This caused the ball to land in a pool of a big crowd. And this is how Dixon could catch the ball. The most exciting part is that the Australian native was not even supposed to be there! It’s a crazy story. Let’s look at the unbelievable things that happened that led Dixon to the game.

Dixon gave an interview with 3AW in Australia. He works for an advertising agency. He revealed that someone offered him the ticket to the game in the morning. “I didn’t have a ticket to the game, but one of my incredible Doritos clients called me up in the morning and said that a spare ticket had become available.”
Dixon currently lives in San Francisco. When he got the call from his client, he was discussing with his wife what they would cook for their kids. Little did he know he was going to witness an iconic kick and even become a part of it! He caught a flight at 12. p.m. and entered the stadium when the National Anthem was being sung.
What a lucky catch!!

Luckily, Dixon caught the video of himself catching the ball. He not only recorded the GW field goal but also managed to get hold of the ball with one hand. When he held the ball, he gave his phone to his friend who kept filming. Dixon left the game quickly as a guard told him that people would want to grab and snatch the ball from him.

Dixon has not ruled out the possibility of selling the ball. His main concern, for now, is to keep it away from his two children. But if he does plan to sell it then, the ball can fetch him anything from around $300,000 to $350,000. There is also a possibility that the Chiefs and Butker would make some kind of offer to him. Butker would certainly want to get the ball for himself.
