Jerry Jones will not sell the team anytime soon

Earlier this year, the Denver Broncos became the subject of the highest bid for any sports team. Former chairperson and heir to Walmart bought the team for $4.65 billion. This purchase and sale agreement created history with the numbers involved. Just months after the sale, the owner of America’s Team has shut down any talks of being reeled into a sale.

Jerry Jones understands the reason behind the rising valuation of the teams. Crediting the league and its ability to generate more and more quality for the viewers. The NFL has been able to keep raising its broadcast revenue over the years. As reported by Forbes they will be generating over $113 billion over 11 years.

The exponential rise in value

Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys back in 1989, for $150 million. In comparison, it might seem nothing now. But at that time, even this deal was a record deal. However, reaching such economic milestones was never the owner’s goal. All he wanted to do at the start was to coach football.
