Bill Belichick Pens Emotional Statement Upon Tom Brady’s Retirement: ‘I Thank Tom For His Relentless Pursuit of Excellence and Positive Impact on Me and the New England Patriots’

NFL fans worldwide know the history of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick very well. This legendary quarterback and head coach duo has been together for a very long time. Brady and Belichick have made history together by winning 249 games and becoming the most game-winning duo. They have reached the Super Bowl nine times together and won six. 

Brady announced his retirement last Tuesday. He issued a statement but did not include the name of Belichick or the Patriots. But his former head coach didn’t do the same. Bill issued a heartfelt statement for his favorite quarterback. 

Bill Belichick’s statement for Tom Brady

Despite Tom Brady not mentioning the name of his former HC or Team, Bill Belichick released a statement. It was uploaded on the New England Patriots’ official Twitter account. In the statement, the head coach praised Brady a lot.

Belichick opened up by saying, “I am privileged to have drafted and coached Tom Brady, the ultimate competitor, and winner.” Patriots were the team where Tom started his career all the way back in the year 2000. Belichick was their HC even back then. It was his decision to pick Brady as the 199th overall pick that year. 

“Tom’s humble beginning in professional football ultimately ended with him becoming the best player in NFL history,” said the Pats’ HC. “Tom consistently performed at the highest level against competition that always made him the number one player to stop. His pursuit of excellence was inspirational.” Tom Brady is a hardworking individual. His pursuit of greatness is truly inspiring. Nobody knows it better than his former HC. 

Belichick thanked Brady for being a positive impact on him

The New England Patriots head coach called Tom Brady a professional on and off the field. Bill also praised Tom for the way he carries himself. Belichick said that Brady has always carried himself with class, integrity, and kindness.

The 69-year-old Patriots coach adds “I thank Tom for his relentless pursuit of excellence and positive impact on me and the New England Patriots.” For 20 years, Brady had a positive impact on the New England Patriots and Belichick. The relationship between Brady and Belichick is very special. We won’t get to see another duo like this for a very long time.
