For the first time in four years, the Super Bowl will be broadcast on NBC this season. Former New England Patriots player Cris Collinsworth was the play-by-play announcer for New England’s Super Bowl victories in 2005 and 2015, as well as their defeats in 2012 and 2018. Owing to this eerie coincidence, the color commentator believes that history will repeat itself once again this time.

As victors of their past four games, the Patriots are suddenly looking good again this season. With a rookie quarterback in Mac Jones and a squad of mostly unknown players, the Patriots certainly have the potential. But winning the SuperBowl with this team? I’ll be lying if I said that it won’t be surprising. Ignore winning, I’ll be shell-shocked if they even reach the SuperBowl. Anyway, opinions are subjective and that’s the beauty of it.
Cris Collinsworth can already see the stars aligning in one particular way this NFL season. The veteran NBC sportscaster, who will be on the call for this year’s Super Bowl, took Twitter to share his prediction on Monday. “I have called 4 Super Bowls, this one will be my 5th. The Patriots have been in every one. Just saying…” tweeted Collinsworth.

Be it the maturity displayed by him during the transitions, or his assertiveness in counter attack, Jones simply did not look like a rookie.

Coach Bill Belichick was super impressed by Mac’s performance, but he insisted on the win being a result of team effort. “You couldn’t single anybody out,” Belichick said. “That was really a great day for us today on so many different levels,” Belichick added. “Long touchdown drives. Turnovers. Competitive plays in the kicking game. Big plays after big plays by so many different people.”
