Bill Belichick on Stevenson
Needless to say, Bill Belichick has coached some great players. He has coached the arguably greatest quarterback to ever play the game. Brady learned a lot from the coach and Belichick believed in the way he performed. The New England Patriots coach has now put his stamp of approval on another player on his team. The coach has been publicly praising Patriots running back, Rhamondre Stevenson.
The coach was recently speaking at the NBC production meeting. There was a moment between the coach and NBC broadcaster Jason Garret. The coach, who is usually very quiet during these meetings, was praising his running back almost non-stop. Belichick was comparing his running back to the NFL all-time greats. Admittedly, Stevenson has been having a breakout season. Garret also mentioned that Belichick talked about Stevenson’s growth as a player and said, “And Coach doesn’t speak a lot in those production meetings, but he probably talked about Rhamondre for 15 minutes, and he compared his growth and his development in a short period of time to both Tom Brady and to Lawrence Taylor.” The running back’s performance this past season has been worthy of such praise.
Stevenson’s performance
The Patriots running back has had a tremendous amount of growth from the start of his season. Stevenson has been putting up brilliant numbers for his team. In 11 games, he has put up 151 carries for 680 yards. He has also scored 5 touchdowns this season. It is hardly surprising that coach Belichick has been praising his player so vocally.

The praises have not been a recent thing. All season, Stevenson’s performance has earned him praise from his coach. Even back in October, Belichick commented on Stevenson’s playing and said, “He is a good all-around back. Love him. Love him.” The running back has not disappointed since then. With the Patriots and Stevenson performing well, it remains to be seen if the team will make it to the Super Bowl. Will Stevenson step up for the responsibility?
