The New England Patriots’ playoff dreams ended last night after losing 35-23 to the Buffalo Bills. Bill Belichick and his Patriots didn’t play their worst football. And somehow their average display at the Highmark Bills Stadium was indicative of their season’s performance. Not great and not bad. Just somewhere in the middle.

And that is not enough for 6x Super Bowl-winning head coaches like Belichick. Bill expressed his disappointment at the season ending earlier than expected. However, his biggest warning came to every underperformer when he mentioned the discussion he will have with Patriots owner Robert Kraft about certain players.

The NE Patriots have lacked consistency this season. This can come through to fans from their crucial turnovers and strategic loopholes. Like the botched lateral pass attempt that led to a last-second defeat when the Raiders turned the ball over for a touchdown. Before turning the page and moving on, Bill Belichick has to get rid of the bad apples. And without naming anyone specific in the press conference, Bill said, “We’ll evaluate everything. And try to make the best decisions that we can to move forward to have a stronger team in the future. Robert and I will talk about that. But there are some that are obviously more urgent or will be more timely than others.

QB Mac Jones is definitely not one of the safe ones with many more proven signal-calling options opening up next season.

Brady just made it to the playoffs for the 14th time in his career. And looks like the 7x champion was the key to the puzzle. Since Tom Brady left for the sunny Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Patriots have a 25-26 record. And if the Dallas Cowboys can beat the Buccaneers in this week’s wildcard round playoff action, then TB12 will be a free agent looking for a new team.

Mac Jones had 3 interceptions to match Josh Allen’s 3 from the Sunday game. However, Jones also threw 3 crucial interceptions and the Bills never lost hold.

Brady and Belichick won half a dozen Super Bowls in one of the greatest dynasties to grace the NFL. And former tight-end co-warrior Rob Gronkowski also recently said that he never discounted the idea of coming back. And after already making it clear that he will only return to play for Tom Brady, the three of them getting together at Foxborough again will not be such a bad idea to Patriots fans.
