Kansas City Chiefs lost star receiver Tyreek Hill to Dolphins in the off-season. However, Hill’s missing has not affected the Chiefs’ campaign so far. Patrick Mahomes and his men have been sensational in the offense, averaging 31.8 points per game. Veteran NFL reporter Jay Glazer said the exit of the 28-year-old has made Mahomes a smarter passer.

“I think Mahomes is better without Tyreek Hill because it’s forcing him to be patient now and spread the ball out and kind of go underneath,” he said in The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz. “In the past, he would have been like, ‘Let me run around. I’m just going to throw it down the field and Tyreek can bail us out,” the experienced reporter added.

Patrick Mahomes shines without Tyreek Hill

The 27-year-old Mahomes had an exciting season so far. PM15 leads the touchdown passes this season with 15. In addition, he is second in QB rating, with 110.5 points, while Geno Smith is ranked one. According to the experienced reporter, Mahomes has been forced to spread the ball out more than he used to in the past. It has led to a changed style in the game, and it is leading to Mahomes’ improvement, as per the journalist. 

In the Monday night victory against the Packers, the MVP candidate completed passes to nine different receivers. If Hill had been there, perhaps it would not have been possible to bring an additional dimension to Mahomes’ game.

The Miami Dolphins WR was all praise for PM15 for his impressive game against the Buccaneers in Week 3. Hill said he made a bet with his dad that the Chiefs would win the game. He added his former teammate is playing on another level.

Patrick Mahomes has a major test this Sunday as he meets Josh Allen in the NFL encounter. Two of the best QBs in the league will fight it out for their teams. Fans would hope for a feast and hope Tyreek Hill isn’t missed because Mahomes has adapted to recent changes.
