Cincinnati Bengals’ Head Coach Zac Taylor had praises for his ex-organization as they beat his current team to claim the Lombardi trophy this year. Taylor worked for the Rams as a Quarterbacks coach and was with the team during their last Super Bowl run. In 2019, he got the chance to be Head Coach at the Cincinnati Bengals which landed him back at Cincinnati.

The match-up in Super Bowl LVI saw the Bengals take on the Sean McVay-led Rams where the Los Angeles team came out on top with a score of 23-20.

Zac Taylor, while speaking to the media post the match, mentioned the elements that made it possible for the LA team to win. Talking about LA’s star-studded defensive front, he said, “Well, it’s a good front. Arguably, the best front in all of football.”

“We’re not the first team they have pressured, I know people have probably made it (look) that way. They have tremendous players who stepped up and made some big plays and made it difficult on us.”

The Rams front ‘D’ has been all the rage post-Super Bowl

The old adage, ‘Defense wins Championships’ came true this Super Bowl. Aaron Donald along with Von Miller and Leonard Floyd made it impossible for Burrow to get a clean throw-off in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter. Nobody expected Donald and Miller to keep coming back.

In the last four downs of the game, Aaron Donald sacked Burrow once and closed down on Burrow on the last down, which was the Super Bowl-winning stop.

Von Miller, who became a two-time Super Bowl champion, exclaimed after the match, “You know this feeling? It is addictive… Getting to the Super Bowl is one thing, but winning one is something completely different.”

Coach Taylor praises the culture of the Rams

Coach Taylor expressed his sincere pride for what his team has been able to achieve this year. Turning around a 4-11-1 record to a Super Bowl appearance is nothing to be sad about. Additionally, the coach acknowledged that they were playing against a “first-class organization.”

After the media questions slowed down, Coach Taylor said, “You know, I just want to give credit to the Rams. They won this game. They are a tremendous organization. Those people are special people over there…I know, more than anything..umm.I wish we would’ve won and we’d be the ones celebrating but they’ve done things the right way too and you know, they get to be Super Bowl Champs so, first-class organization.”

Coach Taylor will look to come back even stronger next year but no one can say for sure what the future looks like for the Bengals. One thing is for sure, they have a truly talented leader at quarterback and they can definitely build a contender around him.
