The talented wide receiver arrived in the NFL as a 2nd round pick in 2017. Since then, he has formed a strong bond with QB Ben Roethlisberger. Smith-Schuster and rookie Chase Claypool had a productive season in 2020.

JuJu played in all 5 games for the Steelers in 2021, but will not be part of the team in the coming weeks.

JuJu Smith Schuster to undergo shoulder surgery in NFL Week 6
Steelers’ WR JuJu Smith-Schuster dislocated his shoulder, is undergoing surgery later this week and is expected to be sidelined about four months, which likely would end his season, per source.

Pittsburgh Steelers star JuJu Smith-Schuster has been an ever-present feature for the team since making his debut 4 years ago. He re-signed with the Steelers on a one-year, $8 million contract, prior to the start of the 2021 season. But he suffered a reportedly season-ending shoulder injury during Sunday’s 19-27 loss to the Denver Broncos.
As per NFL insider Adam Schefter, JuJu will undergo surgery on the injured shoulder later this week. He is expected to face a 4-month spell on the sidelines. In his absence, the likes of Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, Ray-Ray McCloud will be expected to fill in for their recovering teammate.
