Ben Roethlisberger has made a distinct offer to the Steelers. Post Retirement, Big Ben is ready to train rookie QB Kenny Pickett id required. The 2-time Super Bowl champion seems to be looking forward to guiding Pickett. He even contacted Pickett with his generous offer through a phone call. Last season was the swansong year for Big Ben, as he bid adieu to all his fans at Heinz Field.

It meant the end of an 18-year NFL career as the franchise looks forward into the future with Pickett and Mitch Trubisky ushering in a new era. Amid reports of discontent and bad blood between Big Ben and the organization, the reports of him reaching out to Pickett quashes all those rumors.

According to The Athletic’s Mark Kaboly, Pickett was quoted stating, “He said he is always there for me if I have any questions or advice. He is an unbelievable player, a Hall of Famer. He is a guy who I will definitely use as a resource these coming weeks.” The statement from Pickett might appease some Steelers fans while others ponder about how the legendary QB became an impediment to their progress.

Big Ben brings a ton of experience in the NFL, which will be exciting for Pickett to learn and develop his overall game. The retired Steelers QB even managed to get them to the playoffs last season. Although, they suffered an AFC Wild-Card game elimination at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs. He finished the final season recording 22 TD passes and 10 INTs in 16 appearances.

The Steelers choosing Pickett with the No.20 overall pick in the NFL Draft shows their faith. While it is a high bar to emulate the 2005 Pro Football Hall of Famer, Pickett has the package in place.

The Steelers fans will hope that both Trubisky and Pickett can together push the Steelers into the playoffs in 2022. It will be interesting to see whether coach Mike Tomlin maintains his winning season record.
