“Believed the Bullies”: Tom Brady’s Ex-wife Gisele Bündchen Once Slammed People Who ‘Criticized Her Appearance’

The Brazilian supermodel, Gisele Bündchen, ruled the fashion industry in the 2000s. The former Victoria’s Secret Angel was always in demand during fashion weeks. Once the highest-paid model for fourteen consecutive years, Gisele has a thick modeling portfolio which gives a glimpse of her remarkable work. The fierce model used her sultry looks in the right way. Even though Vogue called her the sexiest model of the 2000s era, there were people who did not want to book her because of her appearance.

It is very widely known that the former bride of Tom Brady suffered from insecurity brought on by negative experiences. When she was an amateur model, booking modeling jobs was an arduous task for her. She would attend several casting calls but come out with no luck. The 42-year-old talked in length about her soul-crushing experience in her best-selling memoir, Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life. In her book, Bündchen also described the bullying and criticisms she faced when she was younger.

Gisele is 5 feet 11 inches tall. The model remarked in her book that she was the tallest student in her class. It often made her feel out of place. Her classmate called her Olive Oyl and bullied her for her unique looks.

Then, when she ventured into the harsh and competitive work of modeling, the Brazilian bombshell often got rejected for having a long nose. Despite facing failures for not booking shows and modeling gigs, the former Model of the Year never took the opinions of others seriously. She wrote, “If I had totally believed the bullies in my school or the people in the fashion industry who criticized my appearance, my self-doubt would have paralyzed me.”

Instead of focusing her attention on negative thoughts and opinions, she used her unique features to become one of the most successful models in the world. She realized she was a “little strange looking” but used that to her own benefit. Therefore, she became the face of many brands and a force to reckon with.
