Sunday’s Super Bowl LVII game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles (38-35) happens to hold a significant place in American history. Because it was the first NFL title game to host two black QBs facing each other for the ultimate honor. This special moment was cherished by former US President Barack Obama, who congratulated the champions and gave a special shoutout to Jalen Hurts and his entire team.
For the second time in six years, Patrick Mahomes secured his Super Bowl title after a grueling knock against one of the formidable NFC teams. Despite reaggravating a sprained ankle, the gunslinger managed to make it through, something that shall go down in the record books. Meanwhile, Obama’s tweet instantly caught everyone’s attention.
Congratulations to the Kansas City @Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Andy Reid for a great Super Bowl win and for sustained excellence. And shout out to the @Eagles and Jalen Hurts—outstanding competitors with a bright future.

“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Andy Reid for a great Super Bowl win and for sustained excellence,” Obama tweeted. “And shout out to the Eagles and Jalen Hurts —outstanding competitors with a bright future,” he added.
Even though Hurts and Co. failed to sustain their initial momentum, the Eagles offered great resistance against the KC squad. Until the first half, they were in the front seat, maintaining a ten points lead (24-10).
However, the second-quarter punt return from Kadarius Toney made all the difference. The KC wideout ran for a record-breaking 65 yards making him the first ever person in Super Bowl history to do so. Subsequently, Skyy Moore’s touchdown reception from Mahomes spiced up the entire atmosphere.
Although the last-minute holding penalty turned out to be a controversial incident, both quarterbacks refrained from making any comments. Moreover, they admitted their mistakes and appreciated the commitment showcased by the opposition.
“If there were any doubters left, there shouldn’t be now. The way he stepped onto this stage & ran, threw the ball, whatever it took for his team to win. That was a special performance. I don’t want it to get lost in the loss.” Mahomes praised Jalen Hurts after the game via Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports.
NFL world hails Barack Obama appreciating his special shoutout for the teams
Just like how the former US President scripted records during his tenure at the White House, Mahomes and Hurts’ faceoff has utmost prominence in the country’s history. Wishing his fellow men a bright future, Obama garnered several reactions from the fans.
