Lamar Jackson has a bizarre explanation for his exceptional rushing skills on the gridiron. During his MVP winning 2019 season, Jackson has taught the league one thing, that he can rush the ball at any time. He can escape just by twisting and turning out of those tight and crumbling pockets pretty easily.

The Baltimore Ravens star quarterback during his 2019 season broke many records just by his feet. He is recorded for the most single-season rushing yards by a QB (1,206), most single-season rushing attempts made by a QB(176), and most 1,000-yard rushing seasons by a QB (2).

Lamar Jackson is a tag champion

Although when asked about his secret to his agility and electrifying play-making skills, he said, “I think my [skill] comes from playing tag, not wanting to get touched,” Jackson said. “It just transitioned over to football.” Yes, the star quarterback just credited his playful childhood agility boosting game emphatic plays.

However, what seems even bizarre is that when asked if he has ever been caught while playing tag, Lamar boastfully replied, “Not [by] one person No. No. No.” Although it is not much of a surprise for professional athletes to credit childhood experiences for their athleticism.

Furthermore, when asked about his fondness for running, the 24-year-old replied. “I hate running, only if I have to,” Jackson said. “But you know, my job is to get the ball to the receivers, tight ends, running backs. If I have to run I’ll do it, but I rather just sit back and pass it.”

With his only fourth season in the NFL and a total of 21 rushing touchdowns and 3,613 rushing yards, Lamar’s statement stands contradictory to his stats. According to these stats, we can safely say that he has been more of a rusher than any other QB in the league.
