The Baltimore Ravens came up a point short to claim the win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, it was not the only upsetting news for John Harbaugh. Since after the game the head coach revealed that this star cornerback Marlon Humphrey is expected to be out for “a while”. Turns out by “a while” he meant for the remainder of the season.

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a shoulder injury against the Steelers, according to NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport. The Ravens have already been plagued by various injuries in their defensive backfield. Marcus Peters tore his ACL in a training camp session to start the season, and things haven’t gotten any better since then.

Baltimore’s top five cornerbacks were labeled as doubtful for the game against Pittsburgh, although four of them finally played. Despite Humphrey’s absence and the fact that the team had just surrendered a lengthy drive that allowed Pittsburgh to take the lead. Harbaugh clearly felt compelled to try for the win in regulation.

After Lamar Jackson hit Sammy Watkins for a touchdown with 12 seconds left in the game. Harbaugh decided to go for the two-point conversion and the win. Citing Humphrey’s injury which was a great defensive setback for the team. After the score, Baltimore was behind by a point and could have forced the game into an OT by kicking the extra point. Instead, Harbaugh chose to trust his offensive and go for two.

Humphrey has 55 total tackles, 13 pass breakups, one interception, and one forced fumble heading into Steeler’s game. Humphrey had three tackles during Sunday’s game. If Humphrey is forced to miss time down the stretch, as is expected, the offense will be put under even more strain. As for much of the season, Baltimore Ravens have already tried their best to carry their defenses.
