The Baltimore Ravens had a fiery start to their 2021 NFL campaign winning 5 games on the trot. Unfortunately, ever since their peak, it looks like Lamar Jackson’s side has fallen off a cliff. In the last three matches, they have won only once and overall; they have a 6-3 record.

If the saying “When it rains, it pours”, needed an example, the Ravens’ current condition will be apt. Not only they are performing poorly on the field, off field misery has also been piling up on them. It looks like there is a huge unexpected injury crisis for the Baltimore Ravens.

Reliable NFL insider Ian Rapoport was the first to break the news on Twitter. “Lamar Jackson is dealing with a virus so bad that he’s simply not himself. He flew to Chicago and tried to stay hydrated. But it was too much. He’s out,” he tweeted.

Chicago Bears get a shot in the arm with Baltimore Ravens’ first choice quarterback’s absence

Jackson’s absence means that Tyler Huntley will start against the Bears at Soldier Field for the first time in his career. The news is a major setback for Baltimore, who will be without one of the league’s most explosive quarterbacks as they attempt to maintain their lead in the AFC North.
