After four years with the Cleveland Browns, the former Oklahoma State Heisman winner arrived in Carolina. However, the Panthers didn’t suit Baker as they waived the quarterback after only playing 7 games. But the Los Angeles Rams took a bet, and it paid off as much as anyone could have hoped. Baker Mayfield has had his wife’s support and backing in the roughest moments of his career and personal life. And Emily Wilkinson Mayfield is keeping the cheer parade on, as she posted on Instagram a few weeks ago. And the post had some heavy implications.

Emily sported her Los Angeles Rams game-day outfit. Baker’s wife dedicated the post to him, captioning it, “Cheering on our favorite #17.”

Baker Mayfield brought some life into a lifeless Rams side without their star players. The reigning Super Bowl champions were missing their QB Matthew Stafford, star DT Aaron Donald, and Super Bowl LVI MVP Cooper Kupp. However, despite the shortcomings, Baker took the struggling Rams to a last-second comeback win against the Las Vegas Raiders. This was followed by a 51-14 demolition of Russell Wilson’s Broncos. And Rams fans found a little joy and solace in an otherwise dismal 5-12 season.

Baker Mayfield has the fans vote to remain in LA

Emily’s post got the Rams fans and Baker followers riled up with excitement. With Matthew Stafford’s persisting injury problem throughout the season, fans have started to trust in Baker.

“Really pray that Baker stays with the Rams. He’s been such a blessing, giving us the best games of the season. I know he’ll have options but hope they can work it out so you guys stay here,” one fan commented. Another Mayfield maniac wrote, “No matter where you guys go, I will follow! All I know is Baker is no backup QB.”

One fan aptly described Baker and Emily’s relationship as “preciousness.” Baker’s wife has been through thick and thin, especially this season. The two even had a wild date night after the Rams lost to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. And this gave Baker the necessary push to dominate the Broncos the next week. And Emily’s support will be indispensable this coming season when the cloud clears over Baker’s future.
