A-Rod is always news, for all the reasons! The 38-year-old Packers superstar grabbed eyeballs post his talk with Joe Regan last week as well. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers was in for more attention this week. The reason is his #3 rank on the NFL top list and expectedly; it did not go well with the fans.

The NFL list of top 100 players of 2022 features NFL icon Tom Brady in the numero uno position. Aaron Donald, regarded by many as the greatest defensive player of his generation, occupies the second position.

Why did Aaron Rodgers rank #3 and why did it grab the news?

The Packers QB won back-to-back MVP awards and in 2021, he became the second player in the NFL to win four MVPs. Incidentally, A-Rod played his A Game and led Green Bay with determination. As a result, the Matt LaFleur-coached side registered their third consecutive 13-win-season in 2021.

Meanwhile, Rodgers did well, with an impressive 4,115 yards, passing for 37 touchdowns to just four inceptions. Interestingly, this notable show is the third-highest TD INT ratio in the history of the NFL and it is also one of the sixth-highest score of all time.

However, A-Rod was all good in the last season, which led to many fans questioning the rationale behind the ranking. They questioned the logic of awarding him MVP and not honoring him with the Number One rank.

As a result, several fans expressed surprise on Twitter and soon it became a major topic for discussion.  Many of them also pointed out that Rodgers and his 2021 game records were equally excellent for a comeback. He notched up a 71.8 completion percentage, a 14:2 TD-INT ratio, and a 16.1 passer rating when trailing in games.

These records also made the fans wonder what really went wrong with the ranking.

Fans React to the ranking of the Packers QB

The 38-year-old became the highest-paid player in NFL history (annual basis) in 2021. This notable feat was following his 17th season in the NFL.

This fan summed it up very well.

Another fan tried to explain to everyone what MVP means

Incidentally, he is a mainstay in the top 20 of the top 100 ever since its inception.

This fan has a question.

The QB always emphasized that it is not the rankings but the actual performance that matters while playing.
