Brady and the Bucs have already had plenty of growing pains this season due to injury. Moreover, Brady was going through major personal issues with his now ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, which undoubtedly hampered the Bucs’ season overall. Now, the injury to Wirfs could be a major setback for the Bucs and the chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
Tom Brady talks about Tristan Wirfs’ injury in the Bucs’ loss against the Browns
After the game, when reporters asked Brady about Wirfs’ injury, the Bucs QB said, “It’s awful… It’s awful for us. It’s awful for him. He’s a great player for us. It’s hard to replace him.”
Notably, in the fourth quarter, one of the Browns’ players fell on Wirfs’ leg, which looked really bad. After that, he was carted off in the locker room during overtime. Many believe losing Wirfs through injury cost the Bucs the game. Previously, the Bucs played against the Rams in the NFC Divisional round and lost the game; coincidentally, Wirfs missed the game due to an ankle injury.

Safe to say, Wirfs has been pivotal in Bucs’ victory over the past few months. Speaking about the past few months, Brady also faced a lot of problems regarding his relationship with his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen. After a lot of drama, they finally divorced each other last month. Before the divorce, the Bucs had a 3-5 record in the NFC South division; Brady was playing poorly, and many saw him shouting at his teammates during games.
Interestingly, after the divorce, the Bucs won two back-to-back games and Brady’s performance also improved drastically. Even though the Bucs lost against the Browns, Brady performed really well, as he threw 246 yards with 2 touchdown passes. However, they are in a tricky situation right now in terms of their playoff chances after losing against the Browns. If they lose out on the playoffs, it will be a disastrous season for Brady, both personally and professionally.

After the game, the Bucs’ head coach, Todd Bowles, talked about it, as he could not tell about the seriousness of the 23-year-old offensive tackle’s injury. According to the latest report, the x-ray report came as negative, which means he did not break his leg.

Another report suggests that Wirfs was walking in the locker room and took a shower afterward. Safe to assume, the Bucs won’t miss him for a long time. However, the MRI report will tell the whole story, whether he has a break in his leg.
