NFL franchise Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow was bestowed a true honor by the Athens High School. The young QB is one of the school’s most famous alumni in their history. The school did have a proposal a long time back of renaming their football ground after Burrow. The stadium signage does read the Joe Burrow Stadium. It is an extremely rare honor that living and young athletes like Burrow get in modern times.

The grandeur of having a football field with their name is earned after some really special achievements. It was following his speech in the Athens areas that almost $400,000 was raised for improving the community. Bengals QB is also a Heismann Trophy winner and currently competing with his team in the NFL playoffs. He really did embody for the Athens community as a great human and a player both off the field and on it.

Athletes doing community service and donations to improve the very humble beginnings they came from is a very old tradition. It has been a crucial part of American Sports culture since its inception.

Joe Burrow: The All-Rounder

He was by far the best that has ever played in Athens High School. He was also the winner of the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year both as a junior and senior. Burrow also did end up landing a great offer to play college ball with the Ohio State Buckeyes. The start for Burrow was as slow and tough as he did go under the radar during his time in Ohio.

He did transfer and took his talents to LSU and became the starting QB in 2018. He really was good in his first season but it was the second season that really shot him to legendary status in college football history. Burrow did wreak havoc on opposing college team defenses as he threw 60 TDs. This was in the eyes of many arguably the single most impressive season by a college quarterback ever.

He was selected No.1 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals and the rest is as they say history.
