The NFL is currently facing a huge problem! With a significant wage gap with other positions, the RBs still remain under compensated to this day. Even a kicker, who has a minor role compared to a running back, currently stands with a higher average salary, sparking speculations around the community. Amidst these concerns clouding the league mere weeks before the season, the reigning MVP, Patrick Mahomes looks to be flourishing with a remarkable roster.
The Chiefs‘ recent changes indicate that the team has no intention of slowing down. With new faces in the roster and young rookies from the victorious season, sharing former Chiefs, Tyreek Hill’s jersey is already dominating the practice, evident from their recent post.

Can Patrick Mahomes do it once more?
A lot has changed since last season, with a significant uplift in the defensive roster. When Mahomes’ friend and teammate, Orlando Brown Jr., was traded to the Bengals, fans had serious concerns about the team’s future. However, the Chiefs are known for their risk-taking trades and releases, as seen with Tyreek.
A season after Hill’s departure, the rookie RB, who now owns Cheetah’s jersey, Isiah Pacheco, has shown exponential progress. At just 24 years old and with a Super Bowl ring, Pacheco needs no further introduction.
The Chiefs recently delighted fans with several training videos on the team’s Instagram page. In one of these videos, the young RB Pacheco can be seen dancing to the tune of “Flooded The Face” by Lil Uzi Vert while other athletes sweat it out behind him. Pacheco can also be seen donning a yellow jersey, which indicates that the RB is one of the no-contact and injured players. However, as he can be seen on the ground, moving here and there, it’s safe to say that he will not sit out the upcoming season.

Notably, Pacheco isn’t the only RB catching attention in the videos, as one of the newest recruits, Deneric Prince, can also be seen rigorously training during practice.

How are the defending champs looking this season?
The Chiefs head into the season with a newly structured roster and some gaps they need to fill. Juju Smith-Schuster’s transfer and DeAndre Hopkins’s choosing the Titans are concerning for the team. However, the offensive roster remains strong with several promising prospects. Yet, the opponents are not taking things lightly anymore. The Bengals and Bills are no longer the only big conference opponents, as Rodgers has moved to the Jets as well, bringing yet another contender to the table.

As the season approaches, the Chiefs have a good chance of reaching the top once more. With Mahomes’ ankle fully healed, things are looking great for the team. Only time will tell if they can maintain their dominance.
