The electric Metropolis buzz ever since the arrival of Aaron Rodgers turned into worrying silence this week. The New York Jets fan base received a major shock when the news of their veteran quarterback suffering an off-season training injury made the rounds. This led to a whirlwind of emotions and headlines among Gang Green fanatics. However, a well-informed Jets super fan put the masses at ease as he discussed Rodgers’ tiny hiccup.

Rich Eisen doesn’t see any cause for concern at the moment. Eisen believes that it’s too early to let their Super Bowl dreams evaporate. And after what the Super Bowl XLV MVP said during his OTA press conference, Eisen refused to go down the gloomy road that leads back to 2021 first-round pick Zach Wilson.

Aaron Rodgers’ arrival in New York days before the draft turned the conference dynamics upside down. The Jets have gone from being a playoff contender to having legitimate Super Bowl-winning conversations. However, Rodgers put a dent in those expectations on Tuesday at Florham Park, New Jersey. The 4x league MVP had his OTA cut short due to a calf injury. Although the reports initially stated an ankle hit, Rodgers confirmed that he tweaked his “calf in the little pre-practice conditioning.” However, he also said that it wasn’t too serious. That was enough to put Gang Green cheerleader Rich Eisen at peace.

I’m not going into the season saying ‘the trapdoor is coming. It’s going to be a total disaster. This whole Rodgers thing will be totally underwhelming. He’s going to get hurt. It’s going to be Zach Wilson.’ …… I’m not taking the cheese. I’m not gonna be like ‘Oh the sky is falling. Typical Jets stuff. Oh, Rodgers is already on the side, can’t work out.’ Not gonna go there. It’s mid-May. Come on….. He said it is minor. Whatever, it’s a calf injury,” 53-year-old Eisen said on his show this week.

Aaron Rodgers began his warm-up in uniforms and then moved to the sidelines after tweaking his calf. However, Rodgers didn’t leave the field. Instead, he could be seen moving around and observing the Jets training. This is a stark contrast in attitude compared to last year when the former Green Bay Packers quarterback skipped the voluntary OTAs for his ex-franchise.

Aaron Rodgers feels at home in New Jersey

Every day I wake up excited about coming to the facility. I have excitement about coming down Jets Drive. Every day there’s been something that’s been a special sign or cool moment that reminds me I’m in the right place,” Rodgers said in his presser. And the stars are aligned for the Jets and their quarterback.

The NY Jets last made the NFL postseason in 2010. That was the same year that Aaron Rodgers won his last Lombardi trophy. Coincidence? Here’s another one. Both Rodgers and the Jets have won only one championship, each. It couldn’t get more ‘meant-to-be’ and ‘history-repeats-itself’ than that.

Clearly, Rich Eisen and the rest of the optimists in Jersey aren’t far off with their expectations. Maybe it’s finally time to forget the Broadway Blues that has haunted the franchise for decades. And Aaron Rodgers definitely seems to be the right guy for the job.
