Tom Brady apologized for comparing his life in the NFL to military deployment. This was after a section of fans took offense to his statement. But now veterans have come out in defense of the legendary quarterback, dividing the NFL world on the matter. After Brady’s apology statement, many veterans gave their two cents on the matter. Veterans have asked people to move on from the matter.

Many veterans took to Twitter to say that while the analogy was a poor choice of words, it is not something to get offended by. Tampa Bay Times correspondent Greg Auman shared screenshots of the arguments from both sides.

Brady’s divorce

Tom Brady is going through a divorce with his wife Gisele Bündchen over his decision to continue playing in the NFL. Brady had announced his retirement from the game early this year. But the QB came back after just 40 days. This has reportedly not gone down well with Bündchen.

She is said to be frustrated about the amount of time Brady spends away from the family. It is in this context that Brady made the comments comparing NFL to military deployment. He made those comments while talking to NBA superstar Kevin Durant on his ‘Let’s Go’ podcast.

“I almost look at football season like you’re going away on deployment. It’s like, ‘Man, here I go again.’ There’s only one way to do it,” Brady said.
