Arizona Cardinals head coach was reported to get a job offer from the University of Oklahoma as their Sooners head coach on Sunday. However next day when he was asked about his interests in taking up a new role in the NCAA, the head coach dodged it up like a pro on a Zoom call conference.
In a report by ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter on Sunday afternoon, Oklahoma approached the Cardinals head coach on being the replacement for Lincoln Riley, who had left the Sooners head coaching job at South Carolina.

Kliff gets an offer from Oklahoma Sooners
“I don’t get into those things,” Kingsbury said. “My sole focus the last couple weeks has been the Chicago Bears and, after watching them on Thanksgiving, it needs to be, because they’re a really good football team and had a big win, and so that’s where my focus has been.”
When asked about why he didn’t just turn down the offer, Kliff replied, “We’re in-season, we’re 9-2, just not a topic I want to touch on right now.” Although with him dodging the question like that arouse a lot of questions among the reporter. If he doesn’t want to touch the topic right now will he be doing it after the season?
#Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury refuses to deny he has interest in the Oklahoma job.

Kingsbury however exclaimed how much he enjoys being a head coach in the NFL because of the “professionalism that these guys approach the game with each and every day,” and the players around him are “highly motivated, take care of their bodies, study the game. I mean, it inspires you to be a better coach. And step your game up because you better come in that meeting room knowing what you’re talking about with a level of expertise and trust from those guys or you’ll lose them.”
Oklahoma has targeted Cardinals’ HC Kliff Kingsbury as one of the potential replacements for Lincoln Riley, league sources tell ESPN.

Although Kingsbury enjoys being an NFL head coach but he didn’t quite answer the question directly. And we can believe that a lot is at stake in a professional league like the NFL. Stepping down to NCAA would be easier for the head coach if he thinks of it that way. Yet still he has been phenomenal this season as the Cardinals are on top of the league with a 9-2 record. And the Cardinals won’t be happy with him leaving the franchise.
