Pat McAfee has made a name for himself wherever he has tried his hand. He had a great NFL career before turning into a full-time analyst with his own show. McAfee is also a professional wrestler, a stand-up comedian and many other things. And now he is a dad too.

McAfee and his wife Samantha McAfee are expecting their first child together and recently revealed the gender of the child.

Pat McAfee and his wife Samantha McAfee are expecting their first child together. The former NFL kicker revealed the gender of the child in a video shared on Twitter by his wife. And the McAfee’s are having a girl.

The NFL Twitter could not control their excitement for the McAfee’s. The fans sent congratulatory messages, some with their own girl child photos and memories. Here are some fan reactions.

The journey of Pat McAfee 

Pat McAfee ventured into a number of things in his career to reach where he is today. Before turning into a full-time sports commentator, McAfee played as a kicker and punter for the Indianapolis Colts.  Colts picked McAfee up in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL draft. He retired at the end of the 2016 season after playing eight seasons for the Colts.

McAfee made a total of 575 punts in his NFL career for a combined 26,669 yards. He averaged 46.4 yards per punt. McAfee also scored 49 touchbacks for the Colts in eight years. The NFL record for the highest career net average punting yards is also McAfee’s at 41.1. McAfee is a two-time Pro Bowler (2014,2016). He also appeared on the First team All-Pro in 2014.

McAfee plied his trade in college football with the West Virginia Mountaineers. While there, he won an appearance on the All-American First team in 2008.

After his retirement from the NFL, McAfee joined Barstool Sports, creating the hit ‘The Pat McAfee Show’. He parted ways with the company in 2018 to establish his own venture, Pat McAfee Inc. His show is still one of the most popular ones in the NFL, with several big names like Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers making regular appearances.
