Odell Beckham Jr. is probably one of the biggest names in the free agent market this offseason. The explosive wide receiver is still looking for a team after sitting out the entire 2022 season due to injury. Many reports have claimed that OBJ is demanding high fees for his services. But the 2022 Super Bowl champion has dispelled rumors about a $15 million demand amid concerns about another big name, Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers has already indicated that he wants to move away from the Green Bay Packers. There are rumors that the QB may team up with OBJ next season for the New York Jets. Amid all the clamor, OBJ has clarified his stance on his salary demands.

Odell Beckham Jr. has dismissed the rumors that he is demanding a fee in the region of $15 million a year for returning to play in the NFL. He slammed all the reports and numbers, wondering where they were all coming from.

“April fools was yesterday no? I be so confused where all these reports and numbers are comin from “per source”,” OBJ said in a reply to a similar report.

This comes after multiple reports came out suggesting that the wide receiver wanted $15 million a year to play for the Jets. Earlier, similar reports claimed that he wanted the salary to be as high as $20 million. The WR had dispelled those rumors in a similar vein.

The Jets are looking to bolster their offense after missing out on the playoffs in the 2022 season. And they believe some big upgrades are required to achieve the goal. Apart from OBJ and a few others, their main centerpiece of the project is the Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets haven’t reached the playoffs since the 2010 season under head coach Rex Ryan. In fact, the franchise has the longest active playoff drought in the North American professional sports scene. And they have identified Aaron Rodgers as a solution to that problem. But it isn’t gonna be easy.

The biggest hurdle in their way is the Packers themselves. The franchise has moved on to Jordan Love as their QB1. But that certainly doesn’t mean that they will let the Jets have a future Hall of Famer for cheap. While they have backed down from their demand of a first-round draft pick, the deal is still not done. That may raise some concerns in the Jets fanbase.
