Tom Brady has mesmerized fans and earned plaudits throughout his career which has inspired fans to try and match up to their favorite QB of the NFL. He donned the skill set that many have yet to see converge on the football pitch in the fashion that Brady brought. Although, the one flaw that many will point at in his skill set, is his slow speed.

When he joined the NFL combine in February 2000, he recorded a time of 5.28 seconds for 40 yards. Safe to say, this proved to be the marker that he was in fact, human. Having said that, In a recent challenge hosted by fitness Mr. Beast, fans got the chance to go toe-to-toe with the GOAT in a dash.

In the challenge posted by Nick Symmonds, fans had the opportunity to go up against former NFL QB, Tom Brady. Not Brady incarnate, but a cardboard cutout with his speed. This challenge is one of many Symmonds has employed to make fitness fun. In the short, Symmonds entices the challengers with a prize for the victor. He says, “If anyone can beat Tom Brady in a 40 yard dash, they’re going home $100 richer.”

In the challenge, the fans have to beat Tom Brady and the speed of 5.17 seconds in a 40 yard dash. If they go on to win, they will earn $100. More than a couple of fans take on the challenge, and a few go on to win and bag the $100 prize. The challenge invites fans to beat the 5.17 second speed, Brady’s best velocity in a 40 yard dash which he set back in July 2019.

Some fans have a close call as they barely lose to Brady and his record. While there are others who decimate his time, and also get decimated by him. But one fan got decimated because of his affection for Brady much worse than others. His purchase saw him lose over 80% of value over a memoribilia.

The NFL world has seen many Tom Brady trading cards get popularised over the years. This has seen many collectors acquire early Tom Brady cards and collectibles to add to their ‘roster’ of memoribilia. One fan acquired the “2000 Tom Brady Rookie Ticket PSA 10 Autograph” card, and it has not fared well ever since. The card was bought for an astronomical fee of $2.88 Million in August 2021. But has seen a meteoric fall in its valuation since.

The price of the Trading card for the former Patriots man, stood at $386,957 in recent months. A respectable value for a trading card, but a disastrous fall, losing over $2.4 Million in its valuation. It’s appalling because, after the retiring from the Bucs in 2022, his trading cards have seen a steep rise in valuation.

Fans will continue to find inspiration from one of the best QBs in the NFL. The challenge was one of the ways many fans will have been able to test themselves in physical capacity. The reward will be ever more sweet for those who actually go on to beat him in the dash.
