A rare shout out from Antonio Brown
Antonio Brown took to Twitter to celebrate the recent successes of his new favorite QB Geno Smith. Brown retweeted some stats from Smith’s breathtaking performance against the reigning Super Bowl champions Los Angeles Rams.
Geno Smith had a day, setting a new career high in passing yards:
🔥 28/39
🔥 367 YDS
🔥 3 TDS
🔥 1 INT
🔥 116.1 RTG pic.twitter.com/i06GWQx00e— 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 (@sportingnews) December 5, 2022
Indeed, these are some mad stats that are worth celebrating. Smith is having the season of his life with the Seattle Seahawks, throwing a total of 3,169 yards till week 13. He also has 22 passing touchdowns to his name. And the opposing defenses have intercepted just six of his 392 pass attempts. A whopping completion rate of 72.7%.
AB seems to have finally taken a break from destroying his previous favorite QB Tom Brady to focus on better things. Since his walkout from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January this year, Brown has missed no opportunity to bash the team’s QB, Tom Brady. Brown was also in the news due to his apparent take on Brady’s divorce with Gisele Bündchen. But he is now focusing his attention on a player worthy of all the attention, Geno Smith.
AB’s Relationship with Geno Smith
Antonio Brown and Geno Smith have shared a good relationship over the years. Before Brown signed for the Buccaneers to play with Tom Brady in 2020, there were rumors of him joining Smith at Seattle. In fact, Smith and Brown worked out together in the 2020 offseason after the WR became a free agent due to his release by the New England Patriots.

The Seahawks WB tried to get Brown to Seattle upon his return to the NFL that season, even hinting about the former wide receiver’s comeback by quote tweeting a video of his touchdown.“Coming soon,” Smith tweeted in 2020.
The WR eventually signed for the Buccaneers to play with Brady and Co. and won the Super Bowl that season. But his relationship with the team and Brady hit a point of no return in January 2022 when he walked out of a game against the New York Jets. The Buccaneers terminated his contract a few days later. He has been a free agent ever since.
